Star 129
star one twen·ty nine | ˈstär wən twen-tē nīn
noun
A round diamond cut with 129 facets
The Star 129 diamond cut is unique due to the number of facets cut into the stone. Created with a laser cutter, the Star 129 cut was first introduced in 2000, and was the first such stone cut completely by lasers. The average diamond has upwards of 58 facets and is limited by the technology used to cut the stone. The Star 129 is able to get well beyond this number because of the use of advanced laser cutting tools that allow for much finer facets that can be achieved by hand or supported technologies. The round diamond is therefore unique in this way.
