Spring Ring

spring ring | ˈspriŋ riŋ

noun

A very common kind of clasp used for joining two ends of a necklace

A spring ring is a type of clasp that is most commonly used for joining the two ends of a necklace. The spring slides back from the clasp, often pulled by either of the two loops that hold the chain on either end. These clasps are very common for many types of necklaces and are generally inexpensive, but are considered highly secure because the spring is difficult to pull back without concerted effort. A quality spring ring is difficult to accidentally release, and requires careful manipulation to use properly.
