Polished
pol·ished | ˈpä-lisht
adjective
A smooth, glossy jewelry finish
Polishing is used to finish many types of fine jewelry. It is a smooth, glossy finish applied with a combination of tools and chemicals to the surface of precious or semi-precious metals that might be present in a piece of jewelry. It is considered one of the most classic and timely jewelry finishes, though, it is not the only type. Other finishes include brushed finishes and frost finishes, which may be applicable for certain types of jewelry in certain conditions. Polishing will need to be periodically refinished, but when applied will make a piece sparkle like it is brand new again.
