Multi-Band
mul·ti band | ˈməl-tī band
adjective
A ring that is composed of more than one band
A multi-band ring is one that is composed of more than a single band and can be presented in one of several unique ways. Common types of multi-band rings include criss-cross rings, woven bands, and ring jackets. The “Russian wedding ring” is a common form of multi-band with three interlocking bands. These are also sometimes called trinity interlocking bands, rolling rings, or triple rolling rings. The three bands are meant to signify a trinity of things - which can vary depending on the wearer. Past, present, and future or body, mind, and spirit are common interpretations, as well as religious context. The types of metal chosen for each band can also be significant.
