Tracer Band
trac·er band | ˈtrā-sər band
noun
A wedding or anniversary band that is contoured in such a way as to fit flush against the engagement ring
A tracer band is a type of wedding or anniversary band that is designed to sit flush against the engagement ring, making the pair look as though they are a single piece of jewelry. These bands are also often called shadow bands or contoured bands because of this, with no gaps visible between the two rings. In some cases, if there is a gap, the two can be soldered together to eliminate the space and ensure they appear as a single piece of jewelry, both visibly and for the purposes of taking on and off in the future.
