Rose Finish
rose fin·ish | ˈrōz fi-nish
noun
A jewelry finish that makes the piece look as if it is made of rose gold, but contains no actual gold content
A rose finish is a special technique used to make a piece of jewelry look as though it is made with rose gold when it does not actually contain any gold content. This is opposed to rose gold which is an alloy that combines gold and copper to create a reddish color to a gold ring or other piece of jewelry. A rose finish is unique because it uses a combination of alloys or chemicals to apply a similarly colored finish to another metal in the gold or platinum family that has a reddish/pink hue to it.
