Laser Engraving
la·ser en·grav·ing | ˈlā-zər in-ˈgrā-viŋ
verb
A technique which uses a high-powered laser beam to etch a design into the surface of a jewelry piece
Laser engraving is a process by which a high-powered laser beam is used to etch careful designs into the surface of a piece of jewelry. It can be used on precious metals, gemstones, and almost any component used in fine jewelry. Laser engraving uses a computer to program and deliver the design to the jewelry, so the process is incredibly precise. This allows for very fine engravings that may not be possible by hand. There are a number of different ways in which engraving is used, from customizing a piece for the owner to adding additional design work to the surface of a piece, whether new or something that has been handed down through the years.
