ini·tials | i-ˈni-shəlz
noun
The first letters of a group of names, often a person's first and last name
Initials refer to the combination of letters that represent the beginning of an individual's name or names. They are used to personalize jewelry and can be engraved on the back of a piece of fine jewelry, or on the inside of an engagement ring or wedding band to show additional affection and personalize a piece of jewelry in a way that no one else can replicate. Initials may be stylized using calligraphic techniques, or it may be presented as a simple two or three-letter engraving depending on the style of the jewelry and the preference of the owner.
