Wedding
wed·ding | ˈwe-diŋ
noun
A marriage ceremony
A wedding is a ceremony of marriage that consists of several distinct traditions that date back centuries in some cases. These traditions vary across cultures and religions, but are common throughout almost all cultures of the world. The most common element of a wedding is the exchange of marriage vows, binding two people together for their lives. There is often an exchange of rings when these vows are exchanged to symbolically represent the union, and a public proclamation of marriage, symbolically at the ceremony and officially in paperwork that is filed afterward.
