Victorian
vic·to·ri·an | vik-ˈtȯr-ē-ən
adjective
The designation given to the period from approximately 1837 when Victoria became Queen of England until 1901, when she died
The Victorian period was a highly influential period of time between 1837 and 1901 when Victoria was the Queen of England. There are three distinct periods within the Victoria area—the early (approx. 1840-1860), mid (approx. 1860 - 1880) and late (approx. 1880-1900). Because the time period stretches for nearly 65 years and crosses several major historical developments, these are used to indicate what portion of the century is being discussed. The period before the Victorian period was the Georgian period, and afterward was the Edwardian period.
