Pendant Description

This beautiful pendant features an oval emerald prong set in yellow gold with shared prong set diamond accents around and above. It was created for a couple from Renton, WA, who came into our Bellevue showroom hoping to have a custom piece made to hold the emerald they already had.

We coordinated with them in person, online, and over the phone as the project progressed to ensure that we had all of the details exactly right. After seeing our initial CAD renderings of the design we proposed to make, they quickly gave their approval to move things into production. Design Your Own Jewelry

Center Emerald

The stunning oval emerald at the center of this piece is 2.60 carats and prong set in 18k yellow gold. The tips of these prongs are the only visible yellow gold in the piece, as the rest of the pendant is made from platinum. Their warm color complements the rich green of the emerald nicely, and they bring a touch of glamour to the overall design as well.

Diamond Accents

Surrounding the emerald is a halo of shared prong set diamonds, which add a lovely sparkle as well as a stunning contrast to the piece. The shared prong setting minimizes the amount of metal that’s visible between the stones, thereby maximizing the sparkle of the diamonds. The arrangement of these diamonds in a halo also helps increase the brilliance of the center emerald by reflecting additional light back up onto it.

Just above the main emerald and diamond setting, a single round 0.34 carat diamond is bezel set in platinum. Extending from the top of that diamond, an elongated oval ring of small shared prong set diamonds reaches up to join the chain, thereby balancing out the piece and uniting the two sections of it.

Custom Filigree

As a lovely finishing touch, the basket protecting the back of the emerald is made of elegant custom filigree in an organic, swirling pattern. It also incorporates several small bezel set diamond accents, which serve to provide some extra surprise sparkle . The chain loops through an opening in the back of the top ring of diamond accents, allowing the pendant to move freely while keeping the focus on the body of the piece itself.
