Pendant Description

This stunning pendant features a round amethyst in the center of a teardrop-shaped diamond halo, with a basket made of custom white gold filigree. It was created for a couple from Bellevue, WA, who already had the center stone and wanted us to design a perfect setting for it. The piece was a special birthday present for their daughter, and they loved the design we came up with to highlight the amethyst’s natural beauty. Design Your Own Jewelry

Center Amethyst

At the center of this piece is a round 4.82 carat amethyst. It’s specialty cut, with a lighter purple on the outside and a deeper purple at the center. The cut really brings out the stone’s natural fire, and the bezel setting helps keep the focus on that, as well as the perfect symmetry of the shape. The bezel setting is also open at the top, and the ring of metal that encircles the stone continues up to transition into the bale, giving the piece a graceful, elegant feel.

Teardrop Halo

Just outside of the bezel setting, a ring of round bright cut set diamonds forms a modified halo around the amethyst. The sparkling white of the diamonds contrasts wonderfully with the purple of the center stone, helping it to stand out even more. The halo continues up in the same way as the bezel setting, forming a teardrop shape that loops around and intertwines with the bale.

Custom Filigree

The back of the pendant is made up of a beautiful white gold scroll filigree. This reinforces the classical themes introduced elsewhere, and it gives the piece a balanced, finished look. Our expert artisans create filigree like this by hand, and so we can customize it a great deal.
