This gorgeous pendant features a cushion cut blue topaz bezel set in white gold, accented by split prong set diamonds, milgrain beading and filigree. It’s a vintage-inspired design, and it’s part of a matching set that also includes matching earrings. Blue Topaz Center

At the heart of this design is a 1.62 carat cushion shaped blue topaz, and it’s bezel set in 14k white gold. The bezel setting follows the contours of the stone closely, only diverging slightly in the middle of each curved side. At these spots, a small point emerges, and due to the way the pendant hangs on the chain, these points line up with the compass positions when the piece is worn.

This modification of the setting helps to highlight the stone’s elegant lines while introducing a star-like quality as well. That works nicely with the delicate blue of the topaz to create an overall classical feeling for the design, while the checkerboard cut of the stone makes clear the multifaceted beauty of the topaz itself.

Pendant Design and Diamond Accents

Above the main body of the pendant, a single round bezel set diamond sits atop the point of the bezel setting holding the topaz. The bale emerges from the top of this bezel setting in two strands that curve out and then back in towards each other to form a marquise shape. Milgrain and Filigree

The bezel setting of the small round diamond is lined with milgrain beading, and this echoes the double row of milgrain that covers the top of the bezel setting holding the blue topaz below. A filigree basket encloses the back of the larger stone as well, providing protection and some added intricacy to the design while also letting in plenty of light to maximize the sparkle of the topaz.
