Men's Wedding Band Description

This elegant men’s wedding ring features a rose gold braided middle section, bordered on either side by twisted platinum ropes, all framed nicely by narrow polished rails. It was created for a client from Seattle, WA at the same time as we made a women’s wedding ring for his fiancee. To begin the custom design process, he came into our Bellevue, WA showroom to view some sample pieces. He found a ring he wanted to customize on this visit, and so we shared CAD models of the piece we proposed to make for him through the online workroom we set up to manage his project so that he could approve the design to move into production. Two-tone Band

The majority of this band is made of platinum, with only the braided section in the middle made of 14k rose gold. This helps to emphasize the contrast between the two types of twisted metalwork on the top of the band, with the rose gold center section also sitting slightly higher than the ropes on the sides. The contrast in textures between the three parts of the top of the ring is interesting as well. Just as the color difference helps to make clear the separation between the two twisted sections, the smooth spirals of the ropes separate them from the flat, polished rails on either side even though they’re all made of platinum.

Customization Options

During the custom design process, the client requested to see a model of what the ring would look like with the braid in the center in platinum and the ropes in rose gold. He ultimately chose to go with the original layout seen here in the finished piece, but that alternative is an option worth considering if you’d like to customize this design.

You also may decide that you prefer all one color for the piece, in which case platinum, rose gold, or even yellow gold may provide the look you’re after. Experimenting with different finish combinations is an option as well, as you could leave the center sections polished while giving the rails a brushed finish for a subtle contrast and soft matte effect.
