Marquise Diamond Center

At the top of this ring, a one carat marquise diamond is held in place by six prongs made of 18k white gold. The diamond is arranged so that it sits lengthwise along the finger, crossing the band at the diamond’s widest point. This is a popular orientation for a marquise center stone, as it helps to make the finger look longer and more slender.

Blue Sapphire and Diamond Accents

On each shank shoulder, a marquise blue sapphire is prong set in an opening created by the pattern of the criss-cross shank. Unlike the center marquise, these sit inline with the band of the ring, providing a nice counterpoint to the diamond both in color and in orientation.

Pear shaped blue sapphires also accent the center stone, with one bezel set on each ring front. This gives a bit of a surprise sparkle when the ring is viewed from the side, and the pear shape of the stones helps smooth the transition between the center marquise diamond and the round accent diamonds lining the shank.

Two-tone Criss-cross Band

The criss-cross design of this band is the result of the interaction of two strands that split off from the solid piece at the very bottom of the ring. These curve out and then back in again, crossing over each other twice on each side before they reach the top. The strands themselves are white gold, but 18k yellow gold highlights are integrated in several spots, with narrow bands crossing the larger strands at about the three-quarter point on each side, and yellow gold filigree filling the space beneath the cathedral shoulders on both fronts of the ring as well.
