Engagement Ring Description

This exquisite engagement ring features a princess cut diamond in the center with pave set diamonds underneath it set in the basket and cathedral arms, all set in yellow gold. It was created for a client from Seattle, WA, who came into our downtown Seattle showroom looking for a unique, heirloom-quality design. Design Your Own Engagement Ring

The client knew they wanted either a cushion cut or princess cut diamond, so we made photo mockups of both for him to see. In addition, one of Joseph Jewelry's original designs caught his eye, so we used it as a starting point for customizations.

Center Diamond

The centerpiece of this beautiful ring is a 1.72 carat princess cut diamond. It is perfectly proportioned and held in four classic prongs. These protect the corners of the stone from chipping and hold it securely in place. Princess Cut Engagement Rings

Basket Details

From the top view, the ring appears to be a dainty solitaire with squared polished cathedral shoulders and a slim profile. However, when one looks from the side, there are 42 tiny diamonds pave set in the basket of the diamond, totaling .08 carats in weight. Pave is a traditional setting style from France, created to minimize the amount of metal showing. It can only be completed by experienced jewelers, and it achieves a paved look of diamonds.

Customization Options

There are many ways to customize this ring. One could start with adding a few more pave strands on the basket. Originally, this basket was for a round diamond, so our designers modified it to fit the straight lines of a princess cut diamond. Another modification would be to have this same setting, but with an oval center diamond, which would really change the look of the entire piece.
