Diamond Solitaire

The lone diamond in this ring is one carat and round brilliant cut. It’s held in an asymmetrical tension setting that arises naturally from the wrapped split shank and that highlights the stone’s beautiful shape. The main part of the band runs across the top of the stone, while a smaller arm splits off from one shank shoulder to wrap around the bottom of the diamond. Diamond Engagement Rings

This creates a teardrop-shaped opening between the two portions of the band, and the diamond takes up most of that area. The remaining space between the strands is left open, an arrangement which allows more light to reach the diamond. This really helps the diamond stand out, while the tension setting keeps the profile of the ring low and the stone protected so as to minimize the risk of damage from everyday wear.

Shank Design

The band of this piece is flat and narrow at the bottom, and it maintains these dimensions most of the way up the sides. Just above the mid-point, however, it begins to widen and deepen, eventually extending down to cover the entire diamond on the fronts of the main setting.
