Engagement Ring Description

This exquisite engagement ring features a marquise cut cognac brown diamond tension set in unplated white gold, with additional cognac brown diamond accents on the criss-cross shank. It was created for a client from Keysville, VA, who reached out to us online to start the custom design process.

His girlfriend really liked the look of brown diamonds, and he wanted to see what it would look like to put one into another ring he found on our site. We guided him through the process of picking the exact shade of diamond he wanted, and also of deciding whether to go with a solitaire or three-stone look. Marquise Brown Diamonds

The center stone in this ring is a 0.59 carat marquise shaped cognac brown diamond. It’s tension set between two strands of the 14k unplated white gold shank, and this allows for an extension of the criss-cross band design up into the main setting itself.

On each shank shoulder, a smaller marquise cut cognac brown diamond is channel set in a space created by the crossing of the shank strands, and these complement the center stone perfectly to give the ring a nice, balanced feel. Diamond Engagement Rings

Band Design

The bottom of the ring is a solid piece, but it soon splits into two strands on either side, which move out and then back in to cross over each other in a repeating pattern that continues until they stretch out at the top to form the center setting.

The soft curves of this design mirror the shape of the diamonds nicely, and the champagne color of the unplated white gold continues the earthy theme that begins with the brown diamonds. This look is completed by the use of a brushed finish on the band, creating a nice matte effect, which also intensifies the shine of the beautiful gemstones.
