Round Diamond in Halo Setting

The round center stone, featured in this ring, sits atop an octagonal halo and is held securely in place by eight round prongs. The metal rim encircling the main piece is decorated with milgrain. These tiny beads of metal add extra ornamental details to the overall look. The milgrain technique reflects the vintage style, since it grew in popularity in the Edwardian Era and became most popular in the Art Deco period.

The halo surrounding the round diamond is a twist on the regular halos, since it doesn’t contour the round stone’s outline but rather encloses it in a more geometrical shape. The octagon edges create an edgy look to the design contrasting with the organic ornaments of the shank.


Braided Shank with Filigree and Accent Diamonds

To complete the vintage esthetic of this work of art, extra details and craftsmanship is applied to the shank shoulders and the center stone’s gallery.
The upper part of the shank is deigned in a milgrain technique which contrasts with the polished, shiny lower part. The shank shoulders feature one diamond on each side, outlined in a kite shaped metal beading. This part also features filigree and a braided style shank.
