Engagement Ring Description

This vintage design was inspired by our client’s grandmother engagement ring and holds at its center her heirloom marquise diamond.

Marquise Center Stone

Our client’s dear precious stone is centrally set with the tips pointing outwards. The elongated shape of the marquise gives a royalty feel to the design, especially when combined with the assortment of these diamonds of various shapes. The cluster of stone on each side of the marquise center add more glitter and flair.

To complete the design idea and infuse the vintage feel in it, our designers used the milgrain technique. This process is based on adding small metal beads to the piece. Milgrain derives its name from the French “mille-grain”, meaning a thousand of grains.
In this design, the milgrain outlines the shank shoulders’ outer edge and encircles the smaller diamonds. The center marquise stone is held securely by two V-prongs, protecting the pointed tips of the diamond from chipping. The extra metal used in this prong style adds a bolder character to this antique piece.
