Engagement Ring Description

This dazzling engagement ring features a cushion cut spinel in the center of a three-stone setting that’s completed by the addition of two Ideal Square diamonds, all of which are prong set in platinum. Bright cut set accent diamonds line the shoulders of the platinum shank. It was created for a client from Sammamish, WA, who already had the center stone she wanted to use, and so she asked us to design the perfect setting to highlight its beauty. We worked with her in person in our Bellevue, WA showroom, and we also shared digital models and ideas through the online workroom we set up to manage her project. In addition to her first visit to get the custom design process started, she also came in to examine a wax model of the ring before giving her final approval to move things into production.

Three-stone Setting

The centerpiece of this ring is a 3.32 carat cushion cut spinel that the client provided. The delicate yet deep pink color of the stone contrasts beautifully with the silvery shine of the platinum it’s set in, as well as with the sparkle of the diamonds on either side. These side stones are both Ideal Square diamonds, with a combined carat weight of 1.02. The cut maximizes the brilliant sparkle of the stones, and their proportions are perfectly complementary to the size of the spinel between them. Diamond Engagement Rings

Diamond Accents

Small round diamonds are bright cut set down each side of the platinum shank, ending just beyond the mid-point on the band. These reinforce the classical themes introduced by the choice of a three-stone setting at the top, and they taper slightly towards the top as the space available narrows. This narrowing creates a point at the top of the band just as it meets the side of the main setting, and the lower portion of the band tapers slightly as well below the spot where the accent diamonds stop.
