Engagement Ring Description

This striking engagement ring features a pear shaped ruby bezel set at the top of a narrow yellow gold band. It was created for a client from Forest Hills, NY, who reached out to us online with a clear idea of the type of ring he was looking for. We discussed various options with him in terms of the type and size stone he wanted at the top, and we also shipped him a wax model of the piece to get his final approval before moving his project into production. Ruby Solitaire

The only gemstone in this ring is a 1.80 carat pear shaped ruby with a rich, deep color that contrasts wonderfully with the 14k yellow gold it’s set in. The bezel setting holding the stone follows its elegant contours exactly, helping to highlight the perfect curves and clean lines of the pear cut. The stone sits lengthwise across the narrow band, with its pointed end on one side and its rounded end on the other. Solitaire Engagement Rings

The band intersects the bezel setting just below the mid-point on each side and at its widest point. This allows the stone to sit up somewhat above the band, while the way the bezel surrounds the entire ruby keeps it protected from the hazards of everyday wear. The combination of the ruby and a bezel setting also lends a more modern look to this variation of the classic solitaire design, which has long been a popular choice for engagement rings.
