Engagement Ring Description

This stunning engagement ring features an oval diamond prong set in platinum, with a stylized gallery rail lined with pave set diamonds, and more pave set diamond accents running down the shoulders of the narrow shank below. It was created for a client from Seattle, WA, who worked with our team extensively online and in person in our Bellevue, WA showroom to finalize the details of the piece. Center Diamond and Setting

The largest diamond in this ring is a 1.31 carat oval stone, and it’s held in place by four talon prongs. The diamond is oriented so that it crosses the band lengthwise, a position that helps to highlight its impressive size and elegant lines. Because the diamond is large, a gallery rail was necessary to ensure the setting was properly structurally supported. One of a Kind Engagement Rings

However, the client wanted something a bit more visually interesting than a straight gallery rail, and so we experimented with different arrangements that could provide the needed support but also add to the delicacy and intricacy of the design. After reviewing the options, the client decided to go with this arrangement, which involves pairs of arches that run from the middle of each space between prongs to just below where the prong meets the diamond on each side. Band Design and Diamond Accents

Pave set accent diamonds cover nearly all visible metal besides the prongs on the main setting and three-quarters of the way down the band on each side. There are 138 of these diamonds in total, and they combine to weigh 0.54 carats. The relatively small size of each individual stone does not prevent them from creating a truly glamorous presentation when combined as they are on this ring, and the way they extend even up into the main setting to line the gallery rail helps bring a unity and flow to the piece overall.
