Engagement Ring Description

This exquisite engagement ring stands out from the crowd due to its combination of an amethyst center and blue sapphire accent stones, all set in rose gold. It was a custom design made for a client, who found our ring #100453 and wanted to modify it a bit to make it better reflect her personal style. We worked faithfully with her until we had her design exactly the way she wanted, and the result is the truly unique piece you see here.

Center Amethyst

The centerpiece of this ring is a 1.34 carat cushion cut amethyst, held in place by a bezel setting made of rose gold. The color of this metal is a wonderful complement to the deep purple of the stone, and the bezel setting brings this contrast front and center.

Side Sapphires

For the side settings in this ring, the client chose blue sapphires, which is a stone that holds special meaning for her. Their color also works well with the deep purple of the center stone, and their added sparkle contribute the the overall elegant appearance of the piece.

Custom Alterations

While you may think of customizing jewelry as a process of adding extra touches, our client actually altered this piece by taking away. The ring she was inspired by had a great deal more decorative metalwork, including milgrain on the settings surrounding the stones. Removing this detail gave the ring a more modern look and feel, which was what she was going for.

Below the center setting on the original ring, there was a small filigree design, which she chose to remove as well. The more open setting that resulted shows off more of the stone and still maintains the sleek, modern flair of the rest of the piece.
