This dazzling engagement ring features a pear shaped diamond in a wrapped tension setting at the top, with diamond, milgrain, and custom filigree accents on the split platinum shank. It was created for a client as a custom order, and the many diverse elements that make it up also provide ample opportunity for you to put your own unique mark on the design. Center Setting

A large pear shaped diamond sits atop this ring, and the tension setting holding it wraps around the top and bottom of it from opposite sides. Both parts of this setting are extensions of the split platinum shank, and they follow the contours of the diamond perfectly, helping to highlight its elegant shape. This type of setting also keeps the diamond nearly flush with the top of the band, protecting the stone from damage and helping to maintain an overall low profile for the piece. Band Design and Filigree

The narrow, straight band at the bottom of the ring begins to widen almost immediately as it moves up the side, and it splits even before it reaches the mid-point. The two thin strands that continue up from that spot separate to create an ample opening between them, and this is filled with a lovely scroll filigree.

Just before reaching the large diamond at the top, the strand on the right loops back to meet the one on the left, closing off the opening and creating a smooth perimeter for the center setting. Custom filigree in a complementary pattern to that found on the top of the band also occupies the space below the shank shoulders, and its wonderful intricacy works well with the overall flow of the band design. Diamond and Milgrain Accents

Round bright cut set diamonds line both strands of the split shank on each side, and they continue all the way up into the main setting. These are lined with milgrain beading, which provides the perfect frame and helps give the ring a satisfying, finished feel with a hint of classical flair.
