Engagement Ring Description

This stunning engagement ring features a round brilliant cut moissanite prong set in platinum, with two rows of bright cut set diamond accents running down the sides of the tapered shank. It was created for a client from Seattle, WA, who came into our Bellevue, WA showroom personally to get the custom design process underway.

Center Moissanite

The most prominent feature of this ring is the 3.04 carat moissanite that sits atop it, held securely in place by four platinum prongs. The bright white of the platinum only enhances the brilliance of the giant center stone, and the way the prongs rise up from the lower part of the shank and cross over each other allows them to frame the moissanite beautifully.

Naturally occurring moissanite is extremely rare, and it was first discovered in the remains of a meteor that had fallen to earth. It is easily mistaken for diamond due to its beautiful sparkle, and it’s nearly as hard as well, coming in at a 9.25 on the Mohs scale compared to the diamond’s mark of 10.

Almost all of the moissanite used in jewelry today is lab-grown, and this allows for it to be more reasonably-priced when compared to diamonds of the same size and cut. Diamond Engagement Rings

Two rows of round bright cut set diamonds run down the sides of the tapered shank on this ring, adding a wonderful sparkle to the piece. The diamonds taper in size to follow the contours of the band, and this helps make the transition to the large center stone natural and balanced while still keeping the band itself at a comfortable width.
