Engagement Ring Description

This elegant engagement ring features a round brilliant cut diamond in a four prong platinum setting atop a knife edge shank, accented with three small diamonds on either side. It was created for a client from Renton, WA, who worked with our team onsite in our Bellevue, WA showroom to pick out the right details and design the perfect piece.

Center Setting

The 0.80 carat round brilliant cut diamond at the top of this ring is cradled securely in four platinum prongs that rise up smoothly from the center of the shank below. They raise the diamond up above the rest of the piece to help it stand out and to give a clear view of it from all sides, which only enhances its beauty.

Accent Diamonds

On either side of this center stone, clusters of three round diamonds are prong set, and these both reinforce the beauty of the larger diamond and ease the transition from the main setting to the tapered shank. The clusters are arranged with two diamonds closer to the middle and one on the outside so that the prong holding this last stone arises naturally from the knife edge of the band. The fronts of the ring below the main setting feature a subtle and graceful design formed by the prongs that hold the diamonds. They are arranged in such a way that they seem to all grow out of the same point directly below the main stone, and that brings a lovely balance to the design.

Customization Options

If you’d like to adjust this design and make it more your own, there are plenty of ways to go about it. For instance, you could use a different type of gemstone for the center stone or for the accents. Sapphires in particular are a great alternative to diamonds in engagement rings, as they are nearly as hard and come in a wide range of colors. Design Your Own Engagement Ring

You could also experiment with different types of metal like rose or yellow gold if you want to bring some contrast to the piece while sticking with all diamonds. These metals can help move the design in a more vintage-inspired direction, and removing the knife edge from the shank could help with that as well.
