Engagement Ring Description

This exquisite engagement ring features a princess cut moissanite prong set in the center, with diamond pave on the shoulders of the shank and pink tourmaline accents. It originated as a custom design for a client from Gilbert, AZ, who shared her inspiration pieces with us online and asked us to help her merge them in to one perfect piece.

Because she lived so far away, she couldn’t visit our Bellevue, WA showroom personally. But thanks to the advanced 3D imaging technology we have at our disposal, we were able to show her various design options and incorporate her feedback into new versions until we captured exactly the look she was after.

Center Setting

The center stone in this ring is a 1.72 carat princess cut moissanite, cradled beautiful in a four prong setting that rises smoothly up from the cathedral shank. Moissanite was first discovered in an asteroid, but most of the stones used in jewelry today are lab grown. It’s an incredibly brilliant gem, and it’s an excellent alternative to a diamond if you’re looking to create a stunning display while still staying within your budget. Diamond Engagement Rings

Accent Diamonds

The top half of the shank is covered with diamond pave lined with milgrain. This helps give the piece a real vintage feel, and the numerous diamonds add substantial sparkle as well. The pave setting leaves almost no metal visible between the stones, and it is a difficult technique to master. Fortunately, our artisans can execute it to perfection, allowing you to include this type of dazzling feature in any piece of custom jewelry we make for you.

In addition to the pave diamonds, there are also two tapered baguette diamonds set at the top of the shank shoulders. These perfectly fill the space where the shank splits as it rises to meet the center setting, and their smooth lines contrast nicely with the glittery effect of the smaller accent stones surrounding them.

Pink Tourmaline and Custom Filigree

The fronts of the ring are filled with a hand-made scroll filigree that curls up on either side of a bezel set pink tourmaline. The tourmaline was the client’s birthstone, and she chose to include it as an extra personal touch. Our artisans create all filigree for fine custom jewelry by hand, and so this is something that can be easily adjusted to include a design of special significance to you.
