Engagement Ring Description

This elegant solitaire engagement ring features a cushion cut moissanite center stone with custom hand engraving down the dainty split shank shoulders of the yellow gold setting. The client was from Washington, DC, and had a few different ideas to combine when they started their project.

With our custom design process, clients can start by customizing an existing design, combining a few designs, or bringing example design photos in, as this client did. They went through a few different iterations of styles but ultimately settled on the one you see above. Although the design is different than the original idea, the design process helped the client narrow down their ideas to the final creation. Design Your Own Engagement Ring

Solitaire Setting

Although this is an elaborate setting, it is still a solitaire with no accent gemstones. This allows all of the attention to drift towards the cushion cut moissanite center, which is the equivalent of 2.5 carats of diamond.

Moissanite is a man-made gemstone. It can be obtained in different sizes and cuts, and it has a hardness level of 9. It is not identical to diamond but sparkles in its own way. As an alternative to diamond, it is the best option. Solitaire Engagement Rings

Hand Engraving

The client originally wanted filigree on the shoulders of this piece, but also wanted the four strands to be dainty. By the end of the first stage of design in CAD, the client decided to forego filigree and incorporate hand engraving instead, allowing the four strands to be as dainty and delicate as possible. She found an engraving pattern she liked on one of our other pieces, and the final piece turned out beautifully.

There are many ways to customize this design. A change in the center shape or gemstone type would change the look. Additionally, taking away the hand engraving and incorporating a high polish finish would categorize the piece as contemporary and modern, instead of vintage.
