Aquamarine Centers and Diamond Halos
At the center of each earring, an oval aquamarine is prong set within 4 compass set prongs. The two stones in this set together total 1.44 carats, and the beauty of their delicate blue color is enhanced by the contrast with the silvery shine of the metal they’re set in.
A contoured halo of bright cut set diamonds surrounds each aquamarine, adding some glamorous flair along with another layer of contrast to the design. The halo style is also a classical choice, and so it helps reinforce those themes. Earrings
Filigree and Milgrain
The diamonds in the halo are grouped into pairs, with one larger and one smaller diamond in each group. That’s because the surface of the halo is divided up by lines of milgrain, forming eight discrete teardrop shaped sections within the confines of the perfectly oval halo.
The baskets protecting the backs of the earrings’ main bodies consist of an ornate filigree laid out in a complementary pattern to the design within the halo above. This filigree utilizes infinity symbols lined up end to end to both provide an elegant and decorative touch, and to introduce some added symbolism into the set.
The entire earring body connects to the finding through a loop at the top, and this arrangement allows the earrings to hang clearly below the earlobe. The thin line of metal that extends up to pass through the ear is a perfect complement to the ornate section below, providing a connection without taking away visually from the beautiful display of the earrings on their own.
