Earrings Description

These elegant drop earrings feature emerald cut blue topaz prong set in white gold, accented by scroll filigree baskets behind the stone and a frame of bright cut set diamonds outlined above. They were created for a client from Redmond, WA, who visited our Bellevue, WA showroom in person to get the custom design process started. She already had the stones she wanted to use as the centerpieces for this set, and we built her design around them in order to highlight their gorgeous cut and color. Design Your Own Earrings

Blue Topaz Centers and Diamond Frames

The centerpiece of each earring in this set is a large, emerald cut blue topaz, the two of which together total 30.27 carats. These stones are prong set in 14k white gold, and they’re oriented to hang lengthwise down towards the shoulder when the earrings are worn.

At the top of each setting, a loop of metal links the main body of the earring to the rectangular frame that connects to the finding. These frames have cropped corners, much like the emerald cut stones below, and they’re slightly smaller in every dimension than the blue topaz. Bright cut set diamonds line their front surface, adding a color contrast and glamorous flair that complements the larger stones below nicely. Earrings

Filigree Baskets

Behind the topaz, a basket made up of ornate scroll filigree provides protection and some added vintage flair. This type of detail in something our expert artisans create by hand, and so it can be modified in a number of ways based on your tastes and style preferences. Particularly on earrings like these with large stones that hang down significantly below the earlobe, having the extra detailing on the backs of the stones adds substantially to the overall elegance and charm of the set.

Customization Options

In addition to customizing the filigree, you could modify these earrings by choosing your own gemstones to serve in the main roles. You could also change the shape of the large stones used, or you could switch to rose or yellow gold for some added vintage warmth.
